notes
"Holograph, signed. Caroline Weston asked Richard Davis Webb to get a dictionary for \"her new nephew.\" Richard D. Webb bought the Imperial Dictionary published by Blackie of Glasgow. Richard D. Webb has less time at his disposal since his partner left. Mary Estlin paid him a visit and thereby enjoyed a vacation from taking care of her father. Eliza Wigham and her sister were in town at the same time. Richard D. Webb continues to receive letters from his son, Alfred, who is working as \"a road and drain contractor\" in Australia. Richard D. Webb writes: \"My brother James has lost his eldest daughter ... About the same time his partner died ...\" Richard Davis Webb's two daughters have left their school in London. He tells about acquiring the Imperial Dictionary. He discusses other dictionaries, including Didot's French dictionary and Johnson's and Richardson's dictionaries. Richard D. Webb writes: \"Parker Pillsbury has been spending the last month or more at Belfast, with the Neale family.\""
