Victor Schoelcher is worried because he has not had a reply. Victor Schoelcher, who is living in exile, complains that Maria W. Chapman's sister was not in touch with him while she was here. Schoelcher comments on the rigidity of English customs and gives an historical explanation of the restrictions imposed on young women. He regrets that Mr. George Thompson lost his seat in Parliament.
