notes
"Holograph, signed. Isabella Massie writes to Miss Weston [perhaps Caroline Weston] at length about contributors and contributions to the box for the bazaar, mentioning especially the valuable engravings of Mr. Thomas Agnew. She requests that publicity in newspapers be given to these engravings. Dr. Massie's \"Crime & Curse in America\" should be given out gratis rather than sold. Isabella Massie does not like Lord Brougham's exculpation of American slavery for the reason that England forced it on America. Isabella says: \"Were it not for the unconquerable repugnance the English have to work with men who seem to glory in their infidelity, yr society wd carry all before it in this country.\" She elaborates on this theme."
